Gallery - Abercarn Footbridge

Merriman Construction with Caerphilly County Borough Council awarded Kingswood Engineering the contract to fabricate, paint and erect a pedestrian footbridge linking a new housing development with the town of Abercarn.

The footbridge was fabricated in three sections, painted to highways specification and delivered to site. On site we assembled and fully welded each section together, lifted the bridge through the erected mast and positioned onto the abutments, cable stays fitted and tensioned. The decking was manufactured from re-cycled plastic.

Kingswood was praised both by Merriman and CCBC for their commitment to the manufacture, installation and maintaining program dates.
